Located in the heart of Greenwood’s Uptown shopping area, The Museum illustrates the on-going adaptive reuse of a 1930’s furniture store. The main floor houses history, natural history and Edison exhibits. The Museum’s Monsanto Exhibition Hall highlights the evolution of textiles, transportation and communication, along with an art gallery and international collection. Twice recognized as one of South Carolina’s top tourist attractions, The Museum offers a glimpse of the way things were around the turn of the century, with period restorations like the “Main Street” which features a parlor, drug store, doctor’s office and one-room school.
